Cindy Sherman contributes two photographs to special issue of Playboy.

Sherman, along with six other artists—including another one of my favorites, Tracey Emin—were invited by Playboy to contribute works that “explore the female body as a work of art.” The January/February issue will include two photographs by Sherman, both taken in 1992. “One shows a nude body with artificial body parts with the artist’s face. The other is a plastic doll bent backwards with its crotch thrust forwards.” Interesting!

Cindy Sherman - Three-Faced Doll (A Holiday Ornament), 2003?

Sherman often provides her work—editions or one-of-a-kind pieces—for charity auctions. She contributed this found object assemblage to raise funds for RxArt in 2003.
