After perusing the Hallwalls website, it seems I’ve found an outtake from the Untitled Film Stills! Cindy Sherman exhibited the image in 1979, but it has since been removed from the set. A similar photo still remains part of the series, though—Untitled Film Still #28.

Cindy Sherman’s Untitled Film Stills, as seen in a 1978 group show at Artists Space, as well as her first solo show at Hallwalls the following year. I always find it interesting to see early installation shots of the Film Stills. In the beginning, Sherman would usually hang them with push pins. After all, she never really intended for them to become such commodities; she wanted them to seem a bit cheap and ephemeral.
